Window Shopping #1

I haven’t done a post this simple in so long. But it feels nice to bring forward some of myself, regardless of motherhood, does that make sense?
Obviously maternity leave can have a bit of an impact in what you can and can’t buy, but I plan to buy a few of these things as I go. As little treats now and again. I happen to think I deserve them.

The mug is ridiculous really, as I have so many mugs in this house. But I broke my yellow Anthropologie mug when I was pregnant and I actually wailed. It was my favourite. And they no longer make the one I had, so I figured this one would do nicely? It could be my ‘cheer me up’ mug? I drink enough coffee at the moment, so it’s practically an investment. Right?
The books are because I really don’t ‘do’ telly it seems. The older I get, the less I want to watch. Unless, of course, it’s Come Dine With Me, Love Island, Geordie Shore, First Dates, and Sex and the City re-runs. Wow – you can tell a lot about me from that list can’t you? I prefer YouTube and books. Honest truth. I like being able to find what I want to see if that makes sense? And books – well, they make me happy. They always have done. And I’m hoping they might inspire me to pick up writing again. One day. Harry Potter for obvs reasons. Perfect because I’ve seen many a friend recommend it, and that is all I need to buy a book.
The diary/planner caught my eye on the Oliver Bonas site. I love that place. It starts as of the school year I think, and I love the bright pink, gold lettering and how useful it is. My Kikki K planner is full of hospital appointments at the moment, for Daisy, and I’ll need a new one come the new year anyway, so I figured I might as well start looking around for a new one.
Bedding – we have grey and white striped bedding at the moment, which I’ve always loved. But now our bedroom is decorated (would anyone like a room tour – let me know below), I feel like I would like to go back to basics with a crisp white set. A bit less busy, given what is behind our bed (you can take a nosey for bedroom snaps on my Instagram if you like). I can see it now. The whole family in bed. White sheets. Us sipping hot drinks – coffee for me, tea for Mark. A bit of dream really.
The phone case. One word. Cacti. All I need to say really.
And the polish is right up my street, a nice coral, perfect for what we might have left of Summer. Hang on, have we even had a Summer yet? I don’t feel like we have at all. But either way, I guess I can fake it with fake tan and pop the heating on?
It felt good to write this post. I felt a bit of me bubbling through. And that felt good.

oh I didn't know Rachel Joyce had a new novel out, I loved her previous two, might well add that to an order soon! Completely with you on the new diary/stationery requirement that pervades at this time of year, just this afternoon a friend and I were looking wistfully at pencil cases! x
