A Little Desk Tour

If you remember from our living room tour, we had a bit of space in the other recess to the side of the fireplace. We had thought of just letting toys fill the space but there were two problems with that:

1) No child needs that many toys.
2) Mark and I kind of needed a place for us too. To work.

The thing is, I was really unsure about it going there.

I started having thoughts about the ‘flow’ of the room. And then when I realised that I was being a prick, we went to IKEA and found a solution.

We chose the MALM desk, which comes with a drawer and cupboard that you can place on the desired side.

One thing it definitely did was bring the hexagonal shelving, that I found on Amazon to life. The copper ampersand is from Oliver Bonas, the wooden bird is Dunelm Mill.

The panda bear is from Tigerlillyquinn Shop and the metal lady is actually a bell in disguise that I rescued from a charity shop many moons ago.

The two prints are actually cards from Bond & Fox. Secured with chevron washi tape and polka dot washi tape from eBay.

It has a great view from the window and you can procrastinate a little bit if you’d like to, just by people-watching.

He’s a PC. I’m a Mac. But we get along just fine.

The custom ampersand mousemat is from notonthehighstreet.com.

The M initial mug was a little gift I bought for Mark from Matalan. I’m waiting for the C to come back in stock. Sigh.

The glitter-striped washi is from Oliver Bonas. The other two as mention above.

The I Am So Freaking Organised Sticky Notes are a bit of a favourite of mine. The only problem is that I can’t bring myself to use them!

The bottle is actually just an empty bottle of Lorina Pink Citrus Lemonade that I saved because it was just so pretty! I saw this bottle light from Oliver Bonas and I knew exactly what I was going to use the bottle for! Don’t you think it’s genius? It’s charged via USB too, so there’s no fiddly batteries and it will never run out!

So I suppose this is where the magic happens. As far as work goes at least!

What do you think? I’m pretty darn chuffed with it.

Love it Charlotte! I'm gutted I had to get rid of my desk in the spare room upstairs to make a new nursery and really wish I could put it under the stairs downstairs but I know Amelia would destroy everything I put on it haha! Love all the little details especially the prints and sticky notes xx

It's a great space. My desk is sort of cramped down the side of the living room which isn't ideal, but then I realise that I am lucky to have a desk and a space to work
