Dotcomgiftshop - a treasure trove for people like me

Since I've moved house, I'm trying my best to find ways of sprucing up our rooms and making them feel a little more like home. We don't want to rush into redecorating the place (even though it is much needed - 70's carpet anyone?) as we want to take our time, so sometimes furnishings are the best things to make a room look more like "you."

I hadn't intended on buying anything when I visited the Dotcomgiftshop website (I was just being nosey at the time) but I couldn't resist the sale! First it was the two pillows to brighten up our conservatory, then came the cake stand and matching wire bowl, then the rather ironic tea caddy for someone who doesn't drink tea, and then the let's-buy-Christmas-items-in-January tin and vintage-style calendar.

The calendar in particular is my favourite find; just big enough for a tiny treat or toy (or two...) and it will stay with us forever. The little numbered boxes come in order, but I may mix them up to help Wilbo learn number recognition as he gets older. I hope that it will stay looked after so he can pass it down to his children one day too.

I am not much of a baker (yet!) but the cake stand makes my kitchen look so twee! I love it. If I don't hone my baking skills any time soon, I thought it would make for a creative way to store my nail polish collection too. The little bowl has already been used to store my rings and other bits of jewellery and the metal heart garlands will be hung up in our bedroom when I can find our hammer!

Stephen has already made me put the Christmas tin away (understandable I suppose) but I can't wait to store some homemade mince pies in there next year.

As for the tea caddy - brew anyone?

The Dotcomgiftshop sale ends midnight tonight I believe - so you can still grab a couple of these items while they are still in stock. Otherwise, the prices are still very reasonable! But, I'm warning you, stay away unless you are happy to leave with a little less money in the bank and a lovely order finding its way to you!
